Email from Pastor Fernando on 09.26.11
[We should be receiving the letters from Centro Shalom sometime next week. I'll notify and distribute to you soon after they arrive. Really looking forward to that.]
Last Saturday we sent a letter of thanks from our ministry to each of the sponsors (through regular mail). Some of the children wrote letters and did drawings. I believe that in the first days of this week they will receive the envelopes in the office of your church.
This summer we have had various mission teams visiting our ministry, and we are constructing houses for poor families. We are beginning the construction for a Center of Training for the Unemployed. It is a big job, but it is also a marvelous opportunity that God has given us in order to serve those that suffer more than we do. Thanks for all that you do for the poor children of Mexico.

Email from Pastor Fernando on 8.11.11
Sorry, its a bit hard to read but to paraphrase, Pastor Fernando wanted to give thanks because they had been praying for a long time and a church in Atlanta donated a large offering to them so that they were able to purchase the land next to Centro Shalom. They finalized the deal and the land is officially theirs. Their plan is to build a larger, more functional sanctuary.

Donations through PayPal
We've finalized our PayPal account so now that you can send payments through that instead of by check or cash. This helps us keep track of and manage this in a much simpler, cleaner and more effective way. That's great cause we don't want to waste time or resources and be accountable as best we can.
To make a payment via PayPal, you will need a PayPal account (at least at the moment). Then, all you have to do is send the payment to lbcwla@gmail.com. There are some transactions fees associated with being a non-profit so we're asking each sponsor to cover those costs up front. You likely would have been informed about this already if you are a sponsor.
